NASUWT welcomes Tristram Hunt’s support for teachers
Commenting on the speech by Shadow Education Secretary Tristram Hunt to the North of England Education Conference, Chris Keates, General Secretary of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union said:
“Tristram Hunt is right to focus on the importance of the teaching workforce and the support needed to provide high-quality education for children and young people."
“Teachers are being starved of access to CPD."
“Teachers have a commitment to continuing professional development, but they do not have a contractual entitlement to receive it."
“Investing more in teachers is the best way to secure high standards for all children and young people.”
