Charity celebrates 20 years of Britpop with its own ‘top of the pups’!

Charity celebrates 20 years of Britpop with its own ‘top of the pups’!

In the mid 90s, a new movement filled the void in the UK music scene. From Blur vs Oasis, Noel Gallagher at 10 Downing Street and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion at the Brits – it was an exciting time to be British!

Now to mark Britpop’s 20th anniversary, the RSPCA is appealing for new owners to give one of its Wonder Woofs a brand new home in the country (or city) and let them enjoy the Parklife they deserve.

Like his look-a-like Jarvis Cocker, Oscar the lurcher is a friendly and excitable chap who likes company and is happy to be fussed. He is currently at our Ashley Heath centre in Ringwood.

Reminiscent of Jarvis’s infamous Brit stage invasion in 1996, Oscar can also be strong willed and sometimes unresponsive to commands…however, he is a lovely fellow who is just looking for some Common People to spend his life with!

Just like his Britpop doppelganger, Blur’s Damon Albarn, Jax our stunning Siberian Husky loves a bit of Parklife because he has so much energy.

One-year-old Jax is currently at our Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre, in Upper Colwyn Bay, but is looking for a calm forever home where he can be the only dog doted on for the time being.

Three-year-old Humphrey is a lovely, friendly character but just like his look-a-like he needs to be supervised when out and about until he can benefit from further training.

Humphrey has a doggy pal at his home in South Godstone, a Lurcher called Dave and the two are inseparable so they need to be rehomed together. Just like Liam and Noel they are a great pairing who are sure to provide plenty of entertainment for their new lucky family.
