NASUWT: Ministers snub world’s leading education nations

Despite last minute representations, the Secretary of State has snubbed the Ministers from the world’s leading education nations by refusing to attend the international summit on the teaching profession being held in Amsterdam on 13th/14th March.

Chris Keates, General Secretary of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union said:

“The Secretary of State is clearly embarrassed that the UK earned its place at the table of the top twenty education nations on the planet, but not as a result of any education policy he has introduced.

“This is yet another example of his failure to take pride in and celebrate the achievements of pupils and teachers in state schools across the country.”
