BASC: South East Young Shots activity days
The UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), will host two activity days for young people in the South East of England in June.
The days offer a chance for young people to sample a variety of country activities.
The first, a Young Shots introductory day, will be held at the West Kent Shooting School, Paddock Wood, Kent, on 6th June.
Young Shots aged between eight and 17-years-old will learn about safe gun handling and be given a chance to shoot clay pigeons under the supervision of BASC-accredited shotgun coaches. There will also be air rifle coaching and fly-casting tuition.
The second event, a conservation day, will be held near Great Milton, Oxfordshire, on 8th June. The day will feature a shooting and conservation tour of a farm. Youngsters will also be given a talk on trapping and will have a chance to catch, cook and eat crayfish.
Each event costs £20 per child.
Justin Clarke, BASC South East regional officer, said: “It’s important that young people have a chance to get outdoors and these activity days provide them with opportunities to find out about the countryside around them and try out a number of activities for themselves.”
