BSIA welcomes Trevor Elliott as Director of Manpower and Membership Services
The BSIA is delighted to announce the appointment of Trevor Elliott as its new Director of Manpower and Membership Services.
Trevor's role at the BSIA has been newly created to provide Director-level support to continue the development and promotion of manpower-based sections of membership, comprising Security Guarding, Close Protection, Crowd Management and Leisure Industry Security.
One of the key issues facing these sections of membership at present is the issue of future industry regulation, and Trevor will work closely with government and the Security Industry Authority to help shape a new regulatory regime in the interests of BSIA members. Trevor will also have a number of operational responsibilities and as such, will directly manage a number of BSIA staff engaged in membership services.
Trevor’s expertise and successful track record in the security industry will be particularly beneficial to the BSIA. Most recently, Trevor worked for Reliance Secure Task Management Ltd and Reliance Security Services Ltd, where he held a number of senior positions since joining the Reliance Security Group in 1997. Prior to this, following 10 years in the Forces, he spent a further 8 years in the manned guarding arena and also worked for Dyno-Rod providing Contact Centre Management.
Commenting on Trevor's appointment, BSIA Chief Executive, James Kelly, said: "We are looking forward to welcoming Trevor to the BSIA, where his operational expertise will provide essential support to our members. I am confident that his experience will be of particular benefit, both to the Association and the industry as a whole, as we face multiple challenges over the coming years.”
With such a broad-ranging role and a wide scope of responsibility, Trevor is eager to get started, commenting: “I'm looking forward to the new challenge working for the BSIA in such a diverse and changing industry.”
Trevor will start his new role at the BSIA on Monday 19th September.
