Commenting on the publication of the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), Chris Keates, General Secretary of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union said: “Coming off the back the Pearson Report in which UK schools were ranked as the sixth best in the world, these results demonstrate how standards in reading, maths and science are amongst the very best.”
Representatives of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union, will tomorrow (Thursday) be holding a peaceful demonstration outside the Headquarters of the SENAD Group in Derby, which runs Alderwasley Hall School, a specialist residential school for children and young people who have speech, language and communication needs.
