Yvonne Fovargue

Biography:

Yvonne Fovargue was elected as Labour MP for Makerfiield on May 7th 2015 with 23208 votes, taking 51.8% of the vote.

Yvonne is a graduate of Leeds University, and is married with one adult daughter.

She was appointed Chief Executive of St Helens Citizens Advice Bureau in 1986. Before this she worked for Manchester City Council as a Housing Officer. She served as a local councillor from 2004-2010.

She was elected Member of Parliament for Makerfield on Thursday, 6th May 2010.

Yvonne attended Sale Grammar School and has a BA in English from Leeds University. She is a member of Unite the Union and The Co-operative Party.
