Seema Malhotra

Biography:

Seema Malhotra was re-elected MP for Feltham & Heston on May 7th 2015 with 25845 votes, taking 52.3% of the vote.

In 2009 Seema led the cross-Government programme Increasing Diversity in Public Appointments. Seema’s political career as an MP started when she was first elected Labour and Co-operative MP for Feltham & Heston in December 2011, after the death of Alan Keen. In 2013 she was promoted to the Opposition Whips Office after covering the role, for one year, of Parliamentary Private Secretary to Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP as well as being a Member of the Justice Select Committee. In 2014 Ed Milliband gave her the newly-created role of Shadow Minister for Preventing Violence Against Women and Girls.

In 2007 Seema was shortlisted for the Asian Women of Achievement awards.
