George Eustice

Biography:

George Eustice was re-elected as Conservative MP for Camborne and Redruth on May 7th 2015 with 18452 votes, taking 40.2% of the vote.

George Eustice was born and brought up in Cornwall. George went to Truro Cathedral School and Truro School when growing up and, on leaving school, attended Cornwall College at Pool. He was a member of Cornwall Athletic Club based at Carn Brea.

He has nine years political campaign experience, first for the anti-euro ‘No Campaign’ as its Campaign Director between 1999 and 2003 and then as Head of Press under Michael Howard between 2003 and the 2005 General Election.

He was David Cameron’s Press Secretary from June 2005 until the end of 2007 and was part of his campaign team during the leadership contest.

Before entering politics, he worked for nine years in the family business, Trevaskis Fruit Farm near Connor Downs.

He has been a member of the Environment and Rural Affairs Select Committee and of the Privacy and Injunctions Joint Committee. Since 2013 he has also been Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Farming, Food and Marine Environment.
