Caroline Dinenage

Biography:

Caroline Dinenage was re-elected as Conservative MP for Gosport on May 7th 2015 with 26364 votes, taking 55.3% of the vote.

Caroline has lived on the South Hampshire coast all her life. She is married and has two children.

Caroline was chosen for the Gosport Parliamentary seat as the result of the second only all postal ballot Open Primary in the UK winning the nomination with approx 40% of the votes cast.

Caroline was a local councillor on Winchester District Council for 5 years (1998-2003).

She was the Parliamentary Candidate for Portsmouth South in the 2005 General Election, (having been selected to fight the seat in 2002).

She was selected by the Foreign Secretary’s Office as a member of the UK’s NATO delegation, and elected as Vice-Chairman of a NATO Science and Technology Sub-Committee.

She is the Vice-Chairman (Navy) of the APPG for the Armed Forces.

In May 2015 she was appointed Minister for Equalities by PM David Cameron.
