Andy Slaughter

Biography:

Andy Slaughter was re-elected MP for Hammersmith on May 7th 2015 with 23981 votes, taking 50.0% of the vote.

Andy joined the Fulham Labour Party in 1983 and became a Hammersmith and Fulham councillor for Gibbs Green ward in 1986. In 1996 he was elected Leader of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Council and, after that, was the MP for Ealing, Acton and Sheperd’s Bush from 2005 to 2010. In 2010 he was elected as MP for Hammersmith and, during the legislature, was Shadow Justice Minister on the Labour Party’s frontbench.

Born in Hammersmith in 1960, Andy during his life has covered different roles in the public and private sectors, working – amongst others – for the British Safety Council, for commercial PR firms and as a barrister.
