Unite reaction to the latest unemployment figures
Len McCluskey, Unite general secretary-elect, said:
“These figures provide more proof that the Tory led government are hell-bent on attacking young people.
“A fifth of young people are unemployed, the EMA is being abolished. Youth services across the country are being scrapped and tuition fees will triple. These policies will wreck a generation.
“Unemployment is likely to get worse over the next year. The government must be living in a fantasy land if it thinks its policies will kick-start the economy.”
