Unite: The Tories have no right lecture anyone on the economy
Unite joint general secretary, Derek Simpson said:
“David Cameron is a novice without a plan and his cronies caused the credit crunch. The Tories are trying to score cheap political points when they have no plans of their own for helping people through the credit crisis. The Tories deregulated the financial services in the 80s and 90s and now we are all paying the price.
They had an appalling record on handling the economy, they presided over two recessions, record repossessions and record unemployment levels. The Tories ripped the heart out of our communities.
This attack comes from a man who was advising Norman Lamont when Britain dropped out of the exchange rate mechanism and all hell broke lose. The Tories have no right lecture anyone on the economy.”
