RSPCA: Swan Rescue taking place in Tottenham Canal

RSPCA inspectors will this morning (Friday 15 February) at 9am rescue 30 or more swans from a London canal. Along with staff from a local swan sanctuary, the teams will use five boats to rescue the birds which have been covered in oil. Geese and ducks have also been affected and will be rescued.

A slick of oil and sewage is covering around half a mile of the canal. RSPCA inspectors attended yesterday (Thursday 14th) and rescued several swans, but many more have now been affected.
