ABI: The attorney general to tell the ABI conference how the government will tackle the UK fraud problem

The recent response by the Government to the Fraud Review marks a crackdown on the UK’s spiralling fraud problem. Fraud costs every person £330 a year.

What now needs to be done? At the ABI (Association of British Insurers) Annual Conference on 10 May the Attorney General, the Rt Hon Lord Goldsmith QC, will set out action the Government will be taking to reduce the fraud problem.

Other speakers include Mike Bowron, Commissioner, City of London Police, and John Beadle, Chairman of the Insurance Fraud Bureau.

Also on the day the ABI will be announcing details of the current cost of insurance fraud, where dishonest claims are most likely, and the value of fraudulent claims detected by insurers last year.

If you would like to come to the session (which is between 3-4.15pm) please complete and return the attached media accreditation form, or contact: malcolm.tarling @abi.org.uk. The ABI Conference takes place at the QE11 Centre, Westminster. Full details are on: www.abi.org.uk
