BASC: New advice sheet for tackling anti-shooting prejudice in schools

A new advice sheet for BASC members whose children come up against anti-shooting prejudice at school is now available to download from the BASC website – www.basc.org.uk.

The information sheet offers parents advice on how to deal with anti-shooting prejudice and explains how getting involved with their local school can help safeguard the future of shooting.

As well as the advice sheets, BASC has created a new teaching resources area on its website where teachers and parents can download general information about shooting.

Director of Shooting Standards, Richard Thorne, said: “It is really important not only to challenge anti-shooting prejudice in schools but to volunteer your time to re-educate the educators about the facts of shooting. We all need to make sure schools adopt a broad and balanced approach to shooting.”
