BASC: New venue for BASC .410 World Championship

The annual BASC .410 World Championships will be held at a new venue in Mid Wales this year.

The competition will take place on Saturday 7 July at Mid Wales Shooting Centre in Trefeglwys near Caersws in Powys.

The format of the competition will remain the same with 50 sporting targets as well as a separate 50 target competition over a different layout for any calibre shotgun and a 100 target competition combining scores from both .410 and any calibre layouts.

BASC country officer for Wales, Meurig Rees, said: “This competition usually attracts entrants from all over the world which makes it a really exciting and challenging event. An added attraction this year will be an open 50 target ‘English Skeet’ .410 competition which will be shot in squads.”

All sporting competitions are re-entry with entries opening at 10am and last entries at 3pm. Entries for the skeet competition will open at 10am and close at 11am but people may enter as many times as they wish during this time.

Anyone who does not own a .410 shotgun will be catered for as they will be available at each stand. There are no restrictions to the type of .410 cartridge used, however anyone using a larger calibre shotgun fitted with .410 tubes will be classed as ‘birds only’ and not competition.
