BSIA: Welcoming the launch of All Party Parliamentary Group

The British Security Industry Association is delighted to welcome the launch of an All Party Parliamentary Group for Security. The inaugural meeting of the group took place recently and the Secretariat will be preparing a programme for discussion for the coming months to include the issue of cash-in-transit attacks and the regulation of the private security industry, amongst other topics.

Bruce George MP, Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group, comments: “The group represents the achievement of a long held ambition. It is a forum where parliamentarians can meet with security professionals, representatives of the industry, the Police and trade unions to draw attention to the vital role of private security and its ever growing importance in the UK and beyond.”

David Dickinson, BSIA Chief Executive, says: “Establishing the closest of relationships between MPs and the private security industry is an essential part of the public reassurance agenda. The All Party Parliamentary Group will focus on pressing current and longer term matters for the private security industry over the coming months and should play an important part in drawing the attention of government to the industry’s key issues.”
