Andrew Gwynne

Biography:

Andrew Gwynne was re-elected MP for Denton and Reddish on May 7th 2015 with 19661 votes, taking 50.8% of the vote.

He served as a Labour Councillor on Tameside MBC between 1996 and 2008, representing both times the Denton West Ward. He is a member of the new trade union UNITE (formerly Amicus and AEEU), the Co-operative Party and the Christian Socialist Movement

He is also the Chair of Labour Friends of Israel, Vice Chair of the North West Group of Labour MPs, Vice Chair of the All-Party Group on Children’s Play, a member of the Procedure Committee and of the Court of Referees.

Andrew was educated at Egerton Park High School, Tameside College, North East Wales Institute and Salford University.
