Jamie Reed

Biography:

Jamie Reed was re-elected MP for Copeland on May 7th 2015 with 16750 votes, taking 42.3% of the vote.

Born 1973 in Whitehaven, Cumbria.

Educated at Whitehaven School before attending university in Manchester (BA English) and Leicester (MA Mass Communications).

Employment – worked as a public affairs professional for 10 years before entering parliament.

Jamie Reed has served on two select committees, Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Regulatory Reform Committee. In November 2006 he was appointed PPS to the Rt Hon Tony McNulty MP, Minister of State Policing, Security and Community Safety. In October 2008 Jamie was appointed PPS to the Rt Hon Harriet Harman QC, MP Leader of the House of Commons and Minister for Women. He has also been the Chair of the APPG Digital Switchover since its inception.

To relax Jamie likes to spend time with his family. He enjoys reading American Literature and Modern History. He also likes to listen to Music, watch football, fell walking and is a great supporter of Whitehaven RLFC.
