Jess Phillips

Biography:

Jess Phillips was elected MP for Birmingham Yardley on May 7th 2015 with 17129 votes, taking 41.6% of the vote.

Before running for Parliament, Jess worked as a business development manager at a domestic and sexual abuse charity. She was elected as a Labour councillor for Longbridge ward during the 2012 local elections and, since then, has fought on behalf of the victims of crimes in Birmingham to ensure them an easier way to get help when they need it.

Born in 1981, Jess has studied Economic and Social History/Social Policy at the University of Leeds, before studying a postgraduate diploma in Public Sector Management at the University of Birmingham.
