BASC has introduced venison to more than 10,000 children at food and farming days in Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire over the past month. The BASC Eastern team attended three events where they cooked venison tasters and gave talks about the health benefits of eating this delicious source of protein.
An investigation is to be carried out following the death of a woman in an Irish hospital after she was denied an abortion. Doctors apparently refused to perform a termination on the woman, who was suffering a miscarriage, because a foetal heartbeat was still present. She subsequently developed septicaemia and died.
Consultant physician and geriatrician, Dr Christopher (Kit) Byatt, has been appointed Chairman of the Dr Hadwen Trust for Humane Research (DHT). Dr Byatt is currently a consultant at the Wye Valley NHS Trust’s County Hospital in Hereford. His expertise and experience span some 33 years, predominantly spent in geriatric and general medicine.
