Steve Reed

Biography:

Steve Reed was re-elected MP for Croydon on May 7th 2015 with 33513 votes, taking 62.6% of the vote.

Steve has been leader of Lambeth Council from 2006 to 2012. On November 29th 2012 Steve was first elected as MP in a by-election that replaced Malcolm Wicks MP, who died in September, and was later appointed a Shadow Home Office Minister by Ed Miliband. This was not Steve’s first attempt to enter Parliament: in 2008 he lost for selection as Labour’s 2010 election candidate for the Streatham Constituency, in Lambeth.

Steve was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2013 Birthday Honours for services to local government.
