Simon Hart

Biography:

Simon Hart was re-elected as Conservative MP for Carmarthen West and Pembrokeshire South on May 7th 2015 with 17626 votes, taking 43.7% of the vote.

He was first selected at an open meeting in September 2007 which was attended by local people of all political persuasions.

Simon lives in Llanmill near Narberth with his wife Abigail. They have two young children.

Simon was Chief Executive of the Countryside Alliance, Europe’s largest rural affairs lobby group. He previously worked as a chartered surveyor in Carmarthen and Haverfordwest for just over ten years and served with the Territorial Army for five years. After the election he joined the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee.

Locally, Simon is involved in a range of activities such as being a governor of Tavernspite CP School, coaching youth cricket at the school, and he is a member of Cresselly Cricket Club.
