Sarah Champion

Biography:

Sarah Champion was re-elected MP for Rotherham on May 7th 2015 with 19860 votes, taking 52.5% of the vote.

Sarah became the first woman MP for Rotherham in November 2012 after the by-election won by the Labour. Her interest in helping the weaker, already shown by her commitment as a Chief Executive of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Rotherham, brought her to lead a cross-party inquiry with children’s charity Barnardos in November 2013, in order to investigate the effectiveness of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 in tackling child sexual exploitation and trafficking within the UK.

Born in Essex in 1969 and moved to Northamptonshire in 1977, Sarah graduated in Psychology from Sheffield University.
