Biography:
Ranil Jayawardena was elected MP for North East Hampshire on May 7th 2015 with 35753 votes, taking 65.9% of the vote.
Ranil served as a local Councillor from 2008 to 2015, covering within these seven years the roles of Deputy Leader of the Council, Cabinet Member for Finance and Property and Ward Member for Bramley and Sherfield. In the past, he has been given the responsibility to plan the regeneration of Basingstoke town.
Born in 1986, Ranil is a Freeman of the City of London, an alumnus of the LSE and a Fellow of the RSA.
