Oliver Dowden was elected MP for Hertsmere on May 7th 2015 with 29696 votes, taking 59.3% of the vote.
From 2010 to 2015 Oliver advised the Prime Minister David Cameron on how to tackle the wide variety of policy and political challenges confronting him. His area of expertise is domestic policy reform, and he focuses in particular on immigration, welfare, health, criminal justice and education.
Born and bred in Hertfordshire, Oliver studied law at Cambridge University and, after having worked as a teacher in Japan, worked as a lawyer in the City.
