Nus Ghani

Biography:

Nus Ghani was elected MP for Wealden on May 7th 2015 with 32508 votes, taking 57.0% of the vote.

Before starting her political career, Nus worked at an investment bank. As she desired to change the society for the better and have a greater contact with the public, she went to work for Age UK and Breakthrough Breast Cancer and, later, she led campaigns on education and health in conflict zones for the BBC World Service. Thanks to this experience, she started appreciating even more the UK democracy, therefore she decided to stood at the 2010 General Election in Birmingham Ladywood. Prior to her election in 2015, she was also Deputy Chairman for the Brentford and Isleworth Conservative Association.

Born in Birmingham in 1972, Nus studied at Birmingham City University and, for her Masters in International Relations, at University of Leeds.
