Biography:
Natalie McGarry was elected MP for Glasgow East on May 7th 2015 with 24116 votes, taking 56.9% of the vote.
Natalie created, alongside former SSP MSP Carolyn Leckie, Women for Independence in 2012, a political organisation which seeks to ensure the existence of “a space for women’s voices and interests” in the campaign for Scottish independence.
A renown activist, Natalie created a controversy after taking the oath of allegiance of the monarch, saying that as long as one believes that sovereignty lies with people, it does not matter what the mouth pronounces.
Natalie’s boyfriend, David Meikle, is a Conservative councillor on Glasgow City Council representing the Pollokshields ward.
