Mhairi Black

Biography:

Mhairi Black was elected MP for Paisley & Renfrewshire South on May 7th 2015 with 23548 votes, taking 50.9% of the vote.

Mhairi, born in 1994, is the ‘Baby of the House’, the youngest member of the House of Commons and the youngest MP elected since the Reform Act of 1832. As a lesbian, she explicitly expressed her support for marriage equality.

Mhairi has started using Twitter when she was 14, and is renown to tweet not only about her political views but also about her drinking and partying habits. When she was elected in May 2015, she was in her final year as a student of Politics and Public Policy at the University of Glasgow, and her final dissertation was due at the end of the same month.
