Marcus Jones

Biography:

Marcus Jones was elected as Conservative MP for Nuneaton on May 7th 2015 with 20827 votes, taking 45.5% of the vote.

Marcus has lived in Nuneaton all of his life. He grew up in Whitestone and went to both Whitestone and Chetwynd Schools before going on to St. Thomas More School and latterly King Edwards VI College all in Nuneaton. Marcus worked for a local firm of solicitors as a Conveyancing manager for a number of years.

Marcus is married to Suzanne and they have a young son.

Marcus became the first Conservative MP for the constituency since 1992. Marcus has represented the residents of Whitestone Ward on Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council since 2005. During this time Marcus was the Conservative Group Leader from 2006-2009.

In 2008, Marcus became the Conservative Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth. Marcus was the Council’s portfolio holder for Finance and Civic Affairs during 2008-2009 before standing down from the Council to concentrate on his campaign to win the Nuneaton Parliamentary seat for the Conservatives.
