Lorraine Fullbrook

Biography:

Lorraine Fullbrook was elected as Conservative MP for South Ribble on May 6th 2010 with a majority of 5,554.

Born in 1959 in Glasgow, Lorraine spent over twenty years in business before deciding to seek elected office in 2002. She has worked for several major national and international companies.

In 2000, she became a consultant to a number of businesses and clients, ranging from hi-tech database companies to consumer energy providers, advising them on the public relations and media strategies.

She has also held the role of Press and Media Advisor to the Chairman of a Parliamentary Committee. Lorraine has been married to Mark for eighteen years.

Lorraine was the Parliamentary candidate for South Ribble at the 2005 General Election. Lorraine was re-selected in October 2005 as the Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman for the South Ribble constituency.

After being elected as a local councillor, she joined the Cabinet of the council as the Cabinet Member for Communications. Six months later, she was promoted to Cabinet Member for Finance. Six months after taking over the finance portfolio, she was elected as Leader of the Council.

She resigned as a councillor and council leader in May 2004 to campaign for election for MP for South Ribble.

She is a supporter of the Centre for Social Justice.
