Liz McInnes

Biography:

Liz McInnes was re-elected MP for Heywood & Middleton on May 7th 2015 with 20926 votes, taking 43.1% of the vote.

Liz became an MP in 2014 at the by-election caused by the death of Jim Dobbin MP. From 1981 until her victory she worked for the NHS as a senior biochemist. She was elected a Rossendale borough councillor for Longholme ward in 2010, and has been for many years a member of the Healthcare Science organising professional committee.

Born in 1959, Liz studied at the University of Oxford and gained later a masters degree at the University of Surrey. She lives in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, with her family.
