Liz Kendall

Biography:

Liz Kendall was re-elected as Labour MP for Leicester West on May 7th 2015 with 16051 votes, taking 46.5% of the vote.

Liz is a member of the Education Select Committee and is chair of the Parliamentary Labour Party’s Education Committee.

Before her election in 2010, she was director of the Ambulance Service Network – the national organisation that represents all NHS ambulance services – and director of the Maternity Alliance charity.

She has worked for the Institute for Public Policy Research, where she was the Associate Director for health, social care and children’s early years; and the King’s Fund, where she was a researcher on the public health programme.

She was also an adviser to two members of the cabinet when Labour was in Government. Since 2011 she has been Shadow Minister for Care and Older People.
