Karl Turner

Biography:

Karl Turner was re-elected as Labour MP for Kingston Upon Hull East on May 7th 2015 with 18180 votes, taking 51.7% of the vote.

Karl was born in East Hull in 1971. He was educated at Bransholme High School and Hull University where he gained a Law degree.

He then joined Max Gold Solicitors from 2005 to 2009. He was then with Wilberforce Chambers in Hull, where he worked as a Barrister.

On 3 December 2014, Turner was appointed Shadow Solicitor General by Labour leader Ed Miliband. He also serves as an opposition whip. Moreover, since arriving in Westminster, he was elected on to the Justice Select Committee.
