Jon Trickett

Biography:

Jon Trickett was re-elected MP for Hemsworth on May 7th 2015 with 21772 votes, taking 51.3% of the vote.

Jon has lived in Yorkshire all of his life. He has been a trade unionist and member of the Labour Party since the 1960s and was elected to Parliament in 1996 after the death of sitting Labour MP Derek Enwright. Jon was leader of Leeds City Council before being elected as MP for Hemsworth and beore that worked as a plumber on building sites.

Between 2010 and 2013, Jon has been appointed Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office. Since 2013 he has been covering the role of Shadow Minister without Portfolio.

He attended university in both Leeds and Hull.
