John Cryer

Biography:

John Cryer was re-elected MP for Leyton & Wanstead on May 7th 2015 with 23858 votes, taking 58.6% of the vote.

John is an experienced politician. He was first elected MP for Leyton & Wanstead in May 2010, but has been an MP also between 1997 and 2005 for Hornchurch. John was against the war in Iraq and voted against many issues proposed during Gordon Brown’s legislature and campaigned against the abolition of the Education Maintenance Allowance, the tripling of top-up fees for university students and the cutting of benefits.

John is the son of Ann Cryer and Bob Cryer, both former Labour MPs and is married with Ellie Reeves, a Labour NEC member and trade union lawyer.
