Jeremy Lefroy

Biography:

Jeremy Lefroy was re-elected as Conservative MP for Stafford on May 7th 2015 with 23606 votes, taking 48.4% of the vote.

Jeremy Lefroy was selected as the Conservative Parliamentary spokesman for Stafford constituency on 11 August 2006 at an open primary.

From 2003 to 2007 he was the Conservative Councillor for the Westlands ward of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council.

He served as cabinet Portfolio holder for Finance and Efficiency in the Borough in the Conservative-led joint administration with the Liberal Democrats.

Jeremy Lefroy was the Conservative Party Parliamentary candidate for Newcastle-under-Lyme in the General election of May 2005.

He is a local school governor for Friarswood Primary School, and maintains an active role in a number of community groups and the local church.

Jeremy is married to Janet, and they have two children.

Jeremy is self employed running his own business in the area, working with smallholder farmers in East Africa to produce organic coffee and cocoa for the world market. Together with friends, he has set up the charity “Equity for Africa” helping small businesses in Africa to obtain the capital they need to grow.

In the past years, he has served on the Conservative Party’s Globalisation and Global Poverty policy group chaired by the Rt Hon Peter Lilley MP.
