Iain Stewart

Biography:

Iain Stewart was re-elected as Conservative MP for Milton Keynes South on May 7th 2015 with 19366 votes, taking 46.8% of the vote.

Iain grew up in Hamilton in central Scotland and went to Hutchesons’ Grammar School in Glasgow.

He first moved to Milton Keynes in 1993 for his first job after graduating from Exeter University with an honours degree in politics.

Iain was a trainee accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in Central Milton Keynes.

He now lives in Tattenhoe and works in the Board Practice of the Executive Search firm, Odgers, Ray & Berndtson.

He has run the London Marathon and the MK half-marathon, supporting Macmillan Cancer Relief, MK SNAP and Sportsaid.

He is a member of Shenley Brook End & Tattenhoe Parish council, representing the Emerson Valley ward.

He stood in the Glasgow Rutherglen constituency in the first Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 and in Milton Keynes in the general election of 2005.

He used to run a research unit in Westminster. He has also written a number of articles and books on political issues.
