David Nuttall

Biography:

David Nuttall was re-elected as Conservative MP for Bury North on May 7th 2015 with 18970 votes, taking 41.9% of the vote.

David Nuttall was born in 1962 in Sheffield and educated at Aston Comprehensive School in Rotherham.

After leaving school he joined a local firm of Solicitors in Sheffield.

After studying in the evenings and weekends he qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.

He also obtained a law degree by correspondence from London University. David passed his Law Society Finals in 1990 and was admitted as a Solicitor in December, 1990.

He became a Partner in the same firm he had joined after leaving school and became Senior Partner in 1998.

David the studied to become a Notary Public and was admitted as a Notary Public in November 1998.

David is married to Susan and they live in Tottington, Bury.

David has been a Member of the Conservative Party since 1980 and has held numerous offices within the Party.

He has contested many local government elections and was a Rotherham Borough Councillor for six years.

He contested the constituency of Sheffield Hillsborough in the 1997 General Election. In 1999, he was a member of the Conservative team of Candidates for the Yorkshire and the Humber Region in the European Elections.

In 2001 he contested the seat of Morecambe and Lunesdale in Lancashire and contested Bury North at the last general election in 2005.
