David Morris

Biography:

David Morris was re-elected as Conservative MP for Morecambe & Lunsdale on May 7th 2015 with 19691 votes, taking 45.5% of the vote.

Before entering Parliament in May 2010, David was a hairdresser and for many years ran his own successful salon.

In the 1980’s David worked as a songwriter associated with Peter Waterman’s ‘hit factory.’

He has had a multicultural upbringing and education in Hong Kong and the Bahamas when his father was in the respective port authorities.

David was the Conservative Party’s choice for Parliament in Blackpool South in 2001.

He also acted as an advisor to Greenwich University on a major new study into the effects of the minimum wage.

He sits on the all party literacy committee, the science & technology committee and the space committee. He also is a member of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, for which he has the honorary title Lieutenant Commander.

David lives in Bare and has two sons.
