David Mackintosh

Biography:

David Mackintosh was elected MP for Northampton South on May 7th 2015 with 16163 votes, taking 41.6% of the vote.

David served as Councillour in Northamptonshire County Council in June 2009 and in Northampton Borough Council in May 2011, becoming the youngest leader of Northampton Borough Council ever. He was re-elected as a County Councillor in May 2013, and he resigned in May 2015 to run as an MP. David is also active in the community: is a Patron of The Hope Centre in Northampton helping homeless people in the town and a Patron of The Caring and Sharing Trust in Northampton working with people who have learning disabilities.

Born in Northampton and grew up in the country, David studied at the University of Durham.
