Biography:
David Lidington was re-elected MP for Aylesbury on May 7th 2015 with 28083 votes, taking 50.7% of the vote.
David Lidington served as shadow Northern Ireland secretary before taking on the foreign affairs portfolio before the 2010 general election. He was appointed Europe minister in the Foreign Office after the formation of the coalition, and confirmed in the same role after the 2015 election.
David’s historical knowledge contributed to his double success in University Challenge. He has twice captained a champion team, first in 1979 and then in 2002 when the Sidney Sussex team became “champion of champions” in University Challenge Reunited.
