David Jones

Biography:

David Jones was re-elected MP for Clwyd West on May 7th 2015 with 16463 votes, taking 43.3% of the vote.

Born in 1952, David was brought up in North Wales and educated at Ruabon Grammar School and University College, London. A solicitor by profession, he is senior partner of a practice based at Llandudno. He is married to Sara, a nurse, and has two sons.

His interests include cars, travel and history. He is also a keen supporter of Liverpool Football Club.

David has been a Conservative activist since he was 18 and has held constituency office at all levels since the age of 24. He was Parliamentary Candidate for Conwy in 1997 and City of Chester in 2001 and was a Member of the National Assembly for Wales from 2002 to 2003.

He has broadcast frequently on television and radio and is well known in North Wales and Cheshire as a public speaker. His principal political interests are the environment, law and order and constitutional affairs.

He was elected as a Member of Parliament in May 2005. In November 2006, David was appointed Shadow Deputy Secretary of State for Wales.
