Daniel Poulter

Biography:

Daniel Poulter was re-elected as Conservative MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich on May 7th 2015 with 30317 votes, taking 56.1% of the vote.

Daniel previously worked as an NHS hospital doctor specialising primarily in obstetrics, gynaecology and women’s health.

Dr Poulter continues to practice medicine as an NHS hospital doctor on an occasional basis. He also has a Law Degree from Bristol University.

Outside of medicine, Dr Poulter was previously Deputy Leader of Reigate and Banstead Council (2008 -10).

He has previously helped to set up medical and lifestyle advice clinics for the homeless and people with drug and alcohol misuse problems. He is also a strong supporter of Help for Heroes.

Between September 2012 and May 2015 he was a parliamentary under secretary of state for health.
