Colleen Fletcher

Biography:

Colleen Fletcher was elected MP for Coventry North East on May 7th 2015 with 22025 votes, taking 52.2% of the vote.

Colleen has been both a member of the Labour Party and of the Trade Union for over 40 years. She has held office for many years during her political life, that started in 1992 when she was first elected councillor to Coventry City Council, a role she covered uninterruptedly until 2000, at the Wyken by-election. She was then re-elected in 2002 and lost her seat in 2004. In 2011 she was chosen again in the neighbouring Upper Stoke ward. Before the 2015 election, Colleen was a member of the National Policy Forum and an officer of the West Midlands Regional Board.

Colleen, born in 1954, is the daughter of Coventry Labour councillor Dot Dalton and the wife of Ian Fletcher.
