Alison McGovern

Biography:

Alison McGovern was elected as Labour MP for Wirral South on May 7th 2015 with 20165 votes, taking 48.2% of the vote.

In 2006, Allison was elected to serve as a Labour councillor for Camberwell. In 2010 she has been PPS to Gordon Brown MP, and sat on both the international development and works of art committees.

After graduating from University College London with a degree in Philosophy, she worked in the House of Commons as a researcher. She then left to join Network Rail, following which she joined The Art Fund and then Creativity, Culture and Education, which helps young people to achieve their potential in and through the arts.

Alison was born in Clatterbridge hospital in December 1980.
