BASC’s game and deer team has welcomed James Sutcliffe as a new deer officer.
After graduating from Newton Rigg College with an HND in countryside management, James worked as a gamekeeper and deerstalker for a number of sporting estates across the globe, including New Zealand and the South of England and most recently managing deer and wild boar on an estate in Germany.
James said: "I am very pleased and excited to be a part of the team and I look forward to putting my experience, knowledge and ideas to use for the benefit of BASC members."
Glynn Evans, BASC’s head of game and deer management, said: “I am delighted to welcome James to BASC. His knowledge and experience will help us to continue to develop and deliver the services we provide to members.”
John Thornley OBE, who is vice chairman of BASC Council, chairman of BASC’s deer stalking committee and a trustee of the Deer Initiative, said: "I would like to welcome James to BASC and I am confident that with his broad practical experience he will be a valued asset to the game and deer department and our members. We are looking forward to working with him and putting his experience to best use."
