"The event, supported by Tripod Crest and Fusion, takes place at the Park Plaza Victoria hotel in London"

Expectation builds ahead of Conference

Spaces are filling up fast for CIHT’s Annual Conference on Thursday 2 March and those looking to attend are urged to book their places soon. Highways England will be taking part in a breakfast briefing session from 9am, before Transport Focus chief executive Anthony Smith is interviewed on stage by CIHT chief executive Sue Percy.

The event, supported by Tripod Crest and Fusion, takes place at the Park Plaza Victoria hotel in London and is titled ‘Delivering world class transport infrastructure and services in 2017’.

A morning plenary panel discussion will feature senior figures from Transport for London, Transport Scotland and Transport for the West Midlands, to be followed by a series of breakout sessions.

The sessions include ‘resilient infrastructure’ (such as the Forth crossings), ‘learning from mega projects’ (such as Crossrail), a focus on 10 years of Manual for Streets and ‘planning for sustainable developments’ (such as Ebbsfleet).

CIHT’s Director of Communications Daniel Isichei said: “The conference will allow delegates to learn from good practice in the sector and we are showcasing how transportation professionals are delivering infrastructure in uncertain times, such as with changes in local and sub national government.”

Over 70 delegates are already signed up and there are a number of exhibitors and other sponsors booked to attend.
