BASC publishes online PR toolkit for shooting and conservation

A range of online information resources for people to use to highlight the value of shooting and its role in the UK has been published by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC). The PR toolkit is designed for anyone to be able to access and use to pass on information about shooting and its benefits for the economy, the environment and social well-being.

The toolkit includes animated presentations which introduce BASC and its work; explain the basics about shooting; the links between shooting and conservation and the information contained in the independent Value of Shooting report.

It contains infographics which can be shared online or printed. There are links to BASC’s film channel on YouTube which hosts a wide range of films to watch, download and share. The toolkit links to BASC’s social media feeds on Twitter and Facebook, which are constantly updated with new information. The kit also includes information on codes of practice.

BASC chief executive Richard Ali said: “Shooting has a good story to tell about the benefits it brings and the role it plays in life in Britain. By providing these online resources we are making it easier for everyone who shoots to tell their story.”

BASC chairman Alan Jarrett said: “Anyone who is involved in shooting can and should be an ambassador for shooting. This PR toolkit can equip them to get the job done. We hope that these free resources will be downloaded and used in conversations with candidates in the run up to the election and in explaining shooting to the wider public.”
